Thank You Ma’am

A “What should have happened” piece

Author’s note: This piece’s purpose is for predicting and for Language arts

She led him down the hall to the front door and opened it. "Goodnight!" Behave yourself, boy!" she said, looking out into the street.

The boy wanted to say something else other that "Thank you, ma’am" to Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones, but he couldn’t do so as he turned at the barren stoop and looked back at the large woman in the door. He barely managed to say "Thank you" before she shut the door. And he never saw her again…..

…..until now. After that day 20 years ago, Rodger was now a business man, a man in the Police Force surprisingly enough. He used to commit crimes. Now he sets out to stop others who do crime. He learned his lesson. Today he was on the road, looking cautiously near the stoplight watching for speeders. It was when he was pulling out, retuning back to base. When he sees someone pass through a red light. “Another day in the office” he sighed. He turned on his lights and pursued. The car did not stop. He sped up, bringing the car around and aside the speeding car.

It was a young lady. Tears in her eyes she looked over and started yelling. He couldn’t make out what she was saying. She sped up, so did he. He pulled out his pistol, shooting at the speeders wheels. The car screeched. Slowed down, and stopped. He pulled up. “YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT’S GOING ON” She screamed. “MY GRANDMOTHER IS DYING”. He looked inside and saw the old woman. She was bleeding out of her shoulder. He quickly pulled her out of the car and brought her to the Police car. The granddaughter got in too, he took off. After leaving, he looked in the center view mirror, something seemed familiar about her. Rodger just couldn’t point it out.

After arriving, Rodger and the Granddaughter flew inside with the woman. They got her to a room, and slammed the door. “What’s your name?” Rodger asked. “Jordan, its Jordan” she replied coldly. The nurse came out of the room. “We need to talk to you Ms. Luella Bates”. He suddenly had it figured it out. He couldn’t believe it. Ms. Luella Bates Washington Jones, is still alive? And has a Granddaughter of Rodgers age. When the Nurse and Jordan left, Rodger went in. The wound was treated, but she was in bad condition. She looked a lot different when he last saw her. Well it was 20 years. So it makes sense.

She turned to him. She smiled, “Hey Rodger” she said struggling. “How’s it going man?” “How did you recognize me?” he replied. “You don’t look any different from the day I saw you” she replied. “Is that a good thing?” saying that sarcastically. They both laughed. The nurse and Jordan came in. The wounded woman looked at Rodger' suit. "Honey, that night that I taught you a lesson must have struck a nerve" Rodger laughed. His walkie talkie then made a noise that made everyone jump. "Echo 3, do you copy? We have a situation down at highway 94".

"Copy that" he replied. "Well I gotta get moving" Mrs.Luella Bates Washington Jones looked at him. Called him over. She then brought him close to the bed. She whispered "Take care of my beautiful little Jordan. OK?" He nodded. "Alright, you guys have to leave" said the nurse. "Alright" said both Jordan and Rodger. He looked over. She had a small smile. Then they left. "Hey," she said. "Yeah" replied Rodger. "Thanks for saving my grandmother". Then he left. That was the last time Luella Bates Washington Jones was ever seen alive again.

Halo: Ghosts of Onyx

Have you ever heard of Halo, the game that sold 2.5 million copies in 1999, and Bungie, the creator of Halo, kept the franchise going for a decade. Well, before you can play the games, you can read the books. Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, is a good book, which is what we’re going to talk about today.

Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, is about a team of super enhanced soldiers wearing their infamous MJOLNIR Armor, Blue team. This team consists of John 117, Linda, 058, Kelly 065, and Kurt, 051. Together, they are walking tanks. Blue team was dispatched to Earth to look at the abandoned shipyards on the dark side of the moon. Things go wrong when 051, Kurt’s jump pack failed in a deep space mission accident, was actually considered an ‘excuse’ by The Office of Naval Intelligence, to have Kurt lead the new generation of Spartans: Spartan III’s, which leads to the main climax of the story.

In the climax of the story, Kurt, has received a report from ONI, after being rescued in space by a highly secured Human frigate. He gets a briefing if that he is to train the new Spartan III’s on planet Onyx. It then leads to a covenant Civil War, in the premises of Delta Halo, or Installation 05, as the Oracle, a monitor of halo created by the Forerunners. The flood, a parasite that infects an organism and uses it as their own; plus the unexpected release of the flood which lead to an effect, causing something trigger deep within Onyx, non-human or covenant Origin. Which leads to the conclusion of the book. Kurt destroys the door to the “Shelter, and killing himself in the process, while the others survive, and find themselves at the bomb shelter.

A Prediction to the end of Maximum Ride #5

Author’s note: This essay’s purpose is to improve my prediction score in Language Arts

Maximum Ride is a series of books about a couple of kids who were genetic experiments that were infused with Avian DNA, therefore giving them wings. They are: Max, the eldest of the flock and the leader; Fang, another elder part of the flock; Iggy, He is blind, but he has another sense thanks to his blindness, he can sense where people are at; Gazzy, he is second youngest of the Flock, he has… digestive flaws; Nudge, she has a weird ability to control technology when touching a computer, T.V. etc.; Finally there is Angel. She is the youngest of the Flock, she has an ability to read minds, sense people’s presences, and is also Gazzy’s Biological sister.

What’s the plot that occurs in Maximum Ride #5 In this book throughout the series, The “Original Max” finds her clone leading the Flock, Angel has known the entire time, but hasn’t bothered to speak up about it. Jeb, Max’s creator has taken her for Interrogation. She pretends to die, so when they open the door to see what was wrong, she jumps out the window, and flies as fast as she can to the flock to warn them about what’s going on. As she is flying away she can still smell them from her position, about a quarter mile away. She discovers that it is a new ability that she just obtained
The imposter, known as “The new Max” sets up a Trap for the flock, by bringing them to a room where Ari, an Eraser, has come to take care of the flock. Then the Old max shows up, it turns out Jeb was there expecting the Old max to show up. Then both Max’s have at each-other. The Old max pins down the other one and then she starts choking her. Just as she is running out of air, the old max lets go. Gazzy comes up and says duck. Boom, the building explodes above them. Then they are on their way, flying away.

The Prediction is quite interesting in my opinion. So Max and the others have found a Cliffside to camp at tonight. Max and Fang leave to talk leaving the flock watched by a Blind person. Then they get attacked by a eraser, but Angel didn’t sense them coming. Gazzy shoves a explosive in its mouth. It detonates. It turns out to be a Robot. They don’t have thoughts. Nudge looks up and sees a swarm of erasers headed right for them. Max and Fang head south, when they end up in Arizona, to see Dr. Martinez, known as Ella, their caretaker.

When the two head back they find the flock missing. So they go rescue them. It turns out when the flock was captured Angel wasn’t with them. They saw her with Jeb. She looks suspicious. When Max and Fang show up they go all out, but stop because the se the “New Erasers” not attacking, then angel shows up, she does her Telekinesis to have Max become Unconscious. When she wakes up, she sees everyone in medical beds. It turns out they are in the school. Jeb enters the room and says they were dreaming, put in a state where everyone was in a Virtual world. They were still genetic experiments. The whole dream everything was a experiment all in one. This concludes my Prediction piece about one of the Maximum Ride novels issue #5

Halo: First Strike.
Author's note. This is a piece about discussing the Main Conflicts in my Novel and if they are resolved in the end.

Halo: First Strike takes place in the year 2552, and it is about the events that take place after the Destruction of Halo from the original Xbox game Halo. The Covenant, a highly advanced race of extraterrestrials, are threatening the Human race to extinction. All the outer colonies have been destroyed by the Covenant, first Planet Harvest, Then Reach, Next was Onyx. Before Reach was overtaken, A ship called "The Pillar of Autumn" escaped from the Planet. They made a blind "Jump" and traveled through Slip-space. When they finished their "Jump" they found themselves seeing a forerunner artifact. Not man or Covenant made. They called it Halo. Soon after it soon leads to the events 3 weeks later inside a Longsword bomber.In space, the "Master Chief" and the Artificial intelligence Cortana, have successfully escaped the Destruction of Halo.

Now the Main conflict in this story, the Sequel, is that they have spotted Covenant Super carriers searching the Debris of the Halo Ring. After that they find a group of survivors in a Pelican Drop-ship. From there they get on the ship, and they preform a Suicide mission: Board the Covenant Carrier and use its Slip-space hardware to go to earth, when Chief suggests they go to Planet Reach, or what is left, and hope his squad is still alive. The Conflict does get solved for example, by the disguising themselves into a Covenant Drop-ship and going down to the Surface of reach. A message gets sent to John through his Helmet. It was a six tone beep. It was his squads sign for "Come out now, it's safe". That meant his team was alive. Now, after a long battle, and finding the Survivors, they find another Artifact, a Crystal as what it seemed.

When they escaped, A Covenant Ship was using a Gravity beam to keep John, his squadron, and the survivors from escaping. But then the Crystal seemed to open, and the Drop-ship started going up. When they were out of the Cave they rescued John's squad, there was 15 Super-Carriers. It was overkill, but Cortana arrived and picked them up. And went into slip-space and escaped. But now there is another Conflict. They aren't in slip-space, not in any slip-space they know of at least. It was the crystal. They didn't know why it did this, but they figured it altered space and time. So now there was yet another conflict. It was not solved. They did not know how it worked. So they kept it from the Covenant, knowing that they are looking for it. So now they are looking for it. They end up destroying the crystal, but it wasn't really planned. A former marine couldn't take his duty protecting the Crystal so he planted some C-17 on the crystal and detonated it. And he killed himself in the process. So in the end that Conflict is not really solved.

The Final Conflict was a new threat to everyone. The Covenant have located earth. It was solved though, but only delaying the Inevitable. How was it solved? A Covenant Space Station was meeting up with of Warships, Carriers and Super Carriers. The Mission was delayed due to a certain squadron destroying the Fusion reactor of the Station. They rush to escape, ending up in a death of a former Spartan. Grace, she was blown apart by a projectile grenade by the new species they encountered: Brutes. Her death wasn't in vain, In fact John set her armor to detonate in 30 seconds. Took down a group of 45 covenant troops, as soon as they escaped, they found their captured covenant carrier gone, but a UNSC ship. It turns out the Two civilians that were part of the group of survivors were a Admiral and a Lieutenant have taken the damaged captured ship and crashed it into the station. Then they had what seemed like the artifact. But a fake. Then as the ships closed it, the Reactor detonated. They pulled behind a moon for cover. They came back out. There was nothing. The ships that survived were severely damaged. Finally All the conflicts were solved. they headed to earth to warn everyone about the Covenant threat. Then it was over.
