The story "The
lottery" by Shirley Jackson, is a
short story based on the time of the great depression. The story theme is Irony
because of what happens in the book. How is the story Irony?
One theme for the
short story "The Lottery" is
Irony. An example of this theme throughout the story is when How the main
character, Tessie, is so excited to see who "wins" the lottery. But
then she sees that her husband gets it, she gets mad and claims that "They
didn't give him a chance to pick". Also another one good example would be when she gets picked, when she gets picked her friend who tells her to be quiet and it was fair, she ends up picking the largest stone to throw at Tessie.
The examples of irony were good, but the introduction could use some work.
ReplyDeleteYou had pretty good examples, but I don't really see a conclusion.
