Super Bowl

The Super-Bowl. This year(Besides The Packers against The Bears) it's the most anticipated media event on T.V. The Super-Bowl this year will have Wisconsin's The Packers, and Pittsburgh's The Steelers(BOOOOO!). This game will probably be the HIGHEST GROSSING GAME ON T.V. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Plus the fact this is the first time in 18 yrs. that The Packers have been to the Super-Bowl. And The Steelers, not so long ago. I don't know who will win, but I'll have a poll up for the game.

Everyone has fears. Fears such as Spiders, Death, Heights, and the dark. In the story Deep Waters, we’ll be looking at the Fear of Drowning. It is a very scary thing, according to the main character that is. People die by drowning. And that’s what scares me too. From the story Deep Waters, we’ll be talking about the story itself.

(This paragraph, although will be different. So in this paragraph, I will be referring to the story as a fiction. So in this paragraph, I will be describing the story as a comedy) First, the plotline for Deep Waters, It matches very closely to the plotline of Comedy. First in the comedy plotline, normal everyday life: The story starts out when William is at the YMCA, as usual. Then he explains how the incident happened when he drowned at the YMCA.

That would match with the event that’s next in the plotline. Then he describes what happened. He explains how he was pushed in by a teenager. Then it tells him how he’s doing now and to now forget his fears.(Now, in this paragraph, I’m referring to it as the actual thing, as I should have) Now, the story. In this story, William talks to us about a specific incident at the YMCA. It started out as a fear. Then it came real. Like me. Once I was afraid of spiders. I saw them in my dreams. Then I woke up to one on my bed! It was very scary. Anyways, then he explains how it happened and then happened next.
Now, he’s doing just fine today, swimming. Overcoming his fear, and now he loves to swim. Isn’t it odd how he is scared of swimming? Then he overcomes his fear of swimming, and now swimming is his main thing. And the lesson learned here is that never be afraid to do something your scared of, or something similar to that

Snow Day

Snow Days, the best days for a child ages from a preschooler, to a senior in high school. They give us a break from school due to too much snow. Apparently that's what will happen on Feb. 2rd, 20011. When we get a snow day, we will relax,we will have fun, WE WILL LIVE.
BREAKING NEWS!: I have just received word that school will end 15 min. early. HO-AH. Thanks Super-Intendant. We students like you for that. What he is saying basically, is have fun on your break kids. Yea you students like him for what he did. I know it. And Now Sports.............

P.S. If tomorrow isn't a snow day, I WILL SUE (No I'm just kidding, but please. Tomorrow must be a snow day).

The Pearl, by John Steinbeck is a very good book. It has lots of descriptive words, and phrases. Like for example, “The canoe was killed”. And the descriptive words, like detachment, or splash of the morning. These are all symbolisms that lead to tragedy. So today, I will prove that this story is tragedy.

First of all, the plot-line in The Pearl. It has the exact same events as within the tragic plot-line. World Conflict: Coyotito gets stung by a scorpion. Rise to power: Kino finds the pearl, gets rich, and Coyotito’s wound heals. Tragic flaw: Greed is destroying the family, and this greed caused the canoe to be ‘killed’ and their house to be set on fire. Tragic fall: They’re forced from their homes. Death or death symbolism: Coyotito dies. So far, I’ve given a example of how this is tragedy.

Now for the symbolism. As I stated earlier, the descriptive words, detachment, splash in the morning, are symbolisms to Tragedy. In addition, “The canoe was killed”, is another example of Tragedy. What they’re saying about this is that the canoe was destroyed. Also, of how this story is tragedy, Death. Death is probably what the main thing is about Tragedy. Most people, when they hear the word: Tragedy, think of death. I mean, that’s what I think of when I hear the word “Tragedy”. Anyways, I think I’ve proved enough that this is Tragedy.

Reflection on Book.

My reflection on The Pearl. It was a short book, but a good one too. With the descriptions. I never heard of some like they said "The Canoe was killed". A very strong symbolism of tragedy. In fact, this book's mode of literature was tragedy. How it is, first of all the major conflict is that Coyotito got stung by a scorpion, and now they need help. The Rise of power, Kino finds this pearl, and at the same time, Coyotito's wound heals up. Tragic Flaw, Kino refuses to sell the pearl, and the pearl is evil, destroying the family as we speak. Tragic fall, Coyotito dies by a gunshot from the watcher. It was very sad really. They even talked about his death by saying at the end of the book, "There was Dried Blood in the shawl"....... it's really sad. Too much tragic-ness there. And then they threw the pearl back into the sea.

And that was the end of The Pearl, by John Steinbeck.

Reflection on Chap. 3

I thought that in chap. 3 that in the beginning of the chapter, I really liked how the writer described the town. Like it said; "The town acts like a colonial animal". That's what I liked. Also I thought how the pearl saved coyotito's life. But maybe the wound was going away in the first place, and right as they found this pearl, the wound went away. So I don't know if the pearl's luck really exists. And how the pearl is like an evil. There's no luck.

Will The Pearl Destroy The Family? *SPOILERS*

Will the Pearl Destroy the Family? Yes. Why, because possibly of the greed of Kino. With it he hopes to become rich with it. I mean, he wants fifty thousand pesos. that is a good deal. But then the Pearl Buyers say it's worth a thousand pesos. Kino gets mad, then he goes to the Capital in hopes of a better deal. One piece of evidence that it is greed. Also, Someone tried to steal it (The Doctor I think) and Kino killed him for it. Another example of greed. That's what will danger the family. The greed will endanger the family. How it will endanger the family. Since they're so rich,(Like in Modern Day) there will be robbers, even riots.
So the only thing they'll have to do (Which I predict is at the end of the book) is throw the pearl back into the sea. And the devil with it.
